An inpressive comeback against Durbanville. A few players missing.

Hello everyone sorry about all the quietness I couldn't make it to the SACS (South African College Schools) game I was to busy but today we played a phenomenal game against Durbanville. I say phenomenal because we were 12-0 down at half-time but then we picked ourselves up and within four minutes with two great tries from Joe Kirsten and he missing only one of the kicks we were equalized within 7 minutes and we carried on pushing and we were 19-12 for quite some time, but then they (Durbanville) scored and converted and the game ended as a draw. Mr Skeeles (Coach) was very pleased at the effort and the rugby we played in the second-half. It was quite exciting and interesting seeing the comeback. Proves that you must never give up. I have to give congratulations to Mikey Ford because he had injured his ankle against SACS but he still played in the last ten minutes of the game and sadly Sinjin Broad's back is injured (still) and is too not playing.

Rondebosch 1st match of the new term

Hello and welcome back to the new term of rugby. Today we played Rondebosch Boys Primary. It was a good effort from everyone in the team and we managed to win 35-07. The weather was very unpredictable one minute is was drizzling the next minute it was sunny. I have to say there where some remarkable sprints down the outside.

Come back against Sweet Valley

Yesterday we played Sweet Valley and we really showed guts out there. We came out wanting to have a win after a disappointing loss to Eversdal and we won 54-0 well done guys. The weather was quite funny because this was the pattern: Cloudy,Rainy,Sunny but I still got some nice pictures.Due to rain The field was quite muddy (as you will see in the pictures) Mr Skeeles says "we did what we didn't do against Eversdal which was have patience."

Eversdal we leave with our heads held high after bold fight

Hello two weeks ago we played Eversdal. Each half was 10 minutes. With us beating them in the tournament we were expecting a win but they deserved a win because the gave it their best and "they tackled the daylights out of us" said Mr Skeeles. In the end the score was 10-7 at the last 3 minutes we had such a good phase and even after the horn we were still going and we were so close literally one meter away. Mr Skeeles also mentioned our offloading was poor but otherwise we played well and that this whole unbeaten thing is over.

Paarl Boys we play barefoot for the first time in two years

So hey guys yesterday we played Paarl Boys and we played barefoot (in competitive rugby) for the first time in two years. Yo the were some pretty big oaks out there but the boys pulled through and won 26-14 well done boys. Joe was up and kicking again and running like the wind as always
I must give credit to our backs they were amazing at holding them off. Cameron was suffocated by a Paarl boy who grabbed the the top of Cameron's scrum cap and the strap blocked his wind pipe.

Fish Hoek Primary

Hello guys I am extremely sorry that I couldn't write this earlier I had a lot to do. Any way last week we played Fish Hoek Primary School. It was an above average game, we won 47-14 well done boys.
Sadly Joe hurt his finger quite badly in the first few minutes when he scored a try. So other people  like Sinjin and Oliver had to fill in for him. I couldn't get that many pictures due to my camera battery running flat unexpectedly.

As I said Joe injured his finger so Sinjin took a kick.

Congratulations

I am terribly sorry I did foget to post this last month but here it is.Last month we participated in a tournament in Durbanville. Schools came from all around the Western Cape to take part in this tournament. And as you may imagine when you drive out of the Southern Suburbs the guys get taller and bigger as you go along. (even taller than Rudders and that's tall) And I'm very proud to say that nothing in terms of sport has been such an achievement for WPPS since 2007 when the 1st water polo side won a national
tournament. I was able to see last minutes the first game (which we won 1-0 there were no conversions) and got to chill with the boys
for 30-60 minutes but then I had to leave. But I got to end result from Joe and... Drum roll please..... WE WON THE TOURNAMENT! Mikey Ford won player of the tournament and Joe won back of the tournament WELL DONE BOTH OF YOU!
Our prize was 2 or 3 tackle bags for the school to use.Well done guys and sorry again.

Here are some pictures.

Just chillin'
